The fifth of May, 2010 was the 33rd Ordination Day of Rev. Fr. Diogo Joao Mendonca, ofm, cap. He was ordained on 6th May, 1978 at his home parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, in the village of Socorro, Goa.
Having taken over in July of last year as the newly appointed Parish Priest of this vibrant parish in this Kingdom of Bahrain. Fr. Dinesh as he is popularly known, is a person of simplicity, humility and approachable.
Young and old flock to him seeking his guidance and blessings. He makes himself available to anyone at anytime without any distinction and difference. Considering his age he is always enthusiastic, mingling with the youth and parishioners, playing his morning volleyball and other sports activities but punctual for his pastoral and administrative duties.
Fr. Dinesh is the person who has been accepted by all, including his five brother priests and this could be seen when all of them joined him in concelebrating the Holy Eucharist to thank God for the beautiful gift of priesthood to Fr. Dinesh.
Dear Parishioners, join me in thanking and praising God for giving us a true Shepherd to guide his flock here in Bahrain and that God in his infinite mercy and goodness may bless Fr. Dinesh and keep him under his mantle of love to serve him in his vineyard, especially in this Year of the Priest, for giving us a person of simplicity, who is affectionate to all.
God bless you Fr. Dinesh and may you continue to serve the Lord with more zeal is our prayer to you always.
